“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me”. - Galatians 2:20
"8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
Philippians 4:13 is one of my favorites because without God's strength, I cannot make it from day to day. There are times when I want to throw in the towel, but He strengthens me to press on.
Wouldn't it be great to be like Paul said in the previous verse:
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
(Php 4:12)
I think we will, unfortunately, have the opportunity to learn these lessons in the not too distant future!
14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”[c] Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
Amazing verse, particularly as the next verse is about him dying for Christ:
Yes, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. For the same cause also do you joy, and rejoice with me. (Philppians 2:17-18)
Joy in dying for the truth... as did Christ:
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Heb 12:2)
Thank you brother Martin. There are several NKJV, NASV Bibles that use words that Greek, Hebrew, and Latin mean something that varies from KJV. One example is Hell and Hades.
When you study NKJV, NASV, its good that to look at KJV. Admittedly, I don't. I totally invalidate NIV and other Bible versions. Many in the church use NIV. I don't.
Great verse, and we must also remember, as Paul continued to tell Timothy:
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strife. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
Psalms 148. It reminds me to praise God daily as I was created to do. The totality of creation praises and glorifies God as it was created to do - except man, the apex of creation.
James 1:6, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, John 13:7, Joshua 1:9
It truly must be John 13:7, because God has given me the ability to look back and see where my past gave me the strength and resources for this time. Even some very hard things from my past. He also had me post John 13:7 several years ago on social media, when that was out of character for me, and then that verse came back to be a source of strength and the "Facebook memory" of that 2017 post, with the commentary accompanying it, came at a time when I needed the evidence that God has a plan and is working in our lives. God's got all of our struggles and will give us the strength we need to fulfill His plan.
I think this also addresses the same concerns: No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it.
This reminds me to keep my mind on positive things, and not to worry:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
(Phippians 4:8)
Then we have the outcome of thinking like this, which is the verse before it:
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
1 John 4:4. “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” With Christ we can defeat Satan.
Romans: 10-10 For it is with heart that you believe and justified and it is with your mouth that you profess and are saved. 😎❤️
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me”. - Galatians 2:20
"For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."
1 Corinthians 2:2
The context of this verse is very interesting:
1Co 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1Co 2:3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
1Co 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
He was wanting not to teach anything of himself, so as not to exalt himself, but to teach only about God to exalt God.
For me it is Ephesians 2:8-10
"8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
Yes Jim, Faith and Works, working together, as James said
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. (James 2:17)

Roman's 8:28 And we know that all good things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. NKJV
I prefer the original KJV, as it is all things, not all good things, which is not in the greek...
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
(Rom 8:28)

Good point Martin. He uses the “bad” as well.

1 Peter 1:3 one of many verses that gives me assurance of eternity with my Lord.
We loved you so much that we were willing to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well, because you had become to dear to us.
1 Thessalonians 2:8
Ps18:6 In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.
