“Sustained unbelief” has been my view as well, although I’ve never been able to explain it as well as you, so thank you.

The 12th chapter of Daniel has always interest me. Daniel was told to shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end.. verse 8-13. Daniel was told , go your way till the end for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days. The Northern King stirs up his power against the South and both king’s hearts were bent on evil. Like today, both kings do according to his own will, speaks blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished. The 12th chapter is a summation of the end of time. God told Daniel to go his way, the words are closed up. ‘But you, go your way till the end, for you shall rest and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days. I think that is what we all wait to hear, well done. Blasphemy is a dangerous word, one that we will be held responsible for but love and good works will get us where we want to go. We must let go of jealousy and an unrepentant heart.

Serving God motivated by love is absolutely what God wants from us! That's what Jesus said in John 14:15.

Nicely done... great explanation of an important biblical concept! You are correct, remaining in it is the unforgivable sin because there is no repentance. I will soon link to this piece in an upcoming post of mine.
