This write up it very insightful. There are many in the church that does very secretive sins that are not known to others and there are some who are not able to conceal this same sin and thus it get obvious for others to see. Is it not unfair to de associate from such people whose sin are made known by others or the church ?

With those who are engaged in secret sins - if no one knows what they are doing, then the Lord's command of Matthew 18:15-20 cannot be practiced. But if someone knows what they are doing, then the process of Matthew 18:15-20 needs to be started:

- One on one trying to get them to repent.

- If that doesn't work, take one or two others to try to get them to repent.

- If that doesn't work, take it before the whole church and the whole church tries to get the individual to repent.

- If that doesn't work, then the whole church must withdraw from the individual who refuses to repent.

Eventually, someone's sin will find them out.

Thank you; God is still good 😇 He has shown us with different signposts that He helps us through any / every crisis/life event. My kids faith has gone through the fire and have come out stronger.

This is a very heartbreaking thing to do within one’s own family, something we have had to deal with for the last five years. It has been the hardest for our youngest son, who had just turned 18 when my husband left us; he got a real world experience in what it really means to take up your cross, having no real association with his father for five years now. 🫤🙏

It is incredibly difficult. I'm sorry your family has been experiencing it.

When an eldership doesn't exist how is the process crried out?

I think the process is exactly the same. It will certainly be more challenging without an eldership, but it can still be done.
