Isn't it interesting how God uses other nations to get the attention of his people. I believe he still uses events such as these to wake us up. The minor prophets preached these lessons over and over.

These 70 (Noah and his sons) became the 70 nations whom YHWH dispersed at the Tower of Babel. God then assigned each of these 70 human nations to a son of God, which is a spiritual principality. This is according to Deuteronomy 32:8.

In the ESV it says,

"When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God."

The term 'sons of God' in the ESV are according to the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Septuagint. The KJV used the Masoretic text, so it says 'sons of Israel.' For more detailed study on this topic, the late Dr. Michael Heiser taught extensively on this topic. https://drmsh.com/
