We ask God to examine us, and we are not to even condemn ourselves, but to listen to God's correction, which may come via other people, but we must test it against God's word to see if it is correct or not.

There are many words translated judge in English:

"But to me it is a very small thing that I should be judged (interrogated) by you, or by a man's day; but I do not judge (interrogate) my own self, for I know nothing (against) by myself.

Yet I have not been justified (innocent) by this, but He who judges (interrogates) me is the Lord.

Therefore judge (decide) nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall each one have praise of God." (1Cor 4:3-5)

For if we would judge (separate) ourselves, we would not be judged (condemned). (1Cor 11:31)

We need to discern things about others, and separate ourselves from them if they are wrong, but we can't condemn others, only God can do that.
