Why Should You Trust The Bible?

The Bible is the Word of God.
It claims to be inspired and proves to be in a very powerful way.
The Bible was written over a period of 1600 years by forty different men. The Scriptures are composed of sixty-six books written in three different languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic) and covers three dispensations of time (Patriarchal, Mosaic, and Christian).
With these impressive attributes, the most amazing thing about the Bible is that there are no contradictions!
The Author of the Bible.
While forty different men wrote, there is only one, true Author: The Holy Spirit.
Consider what the Bible says:
“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Pet. 1:19-21).
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come” (John 16:13).
The perfect Author revealed the perfect message that can make man perfect or complete spiritually:
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
In this article, we want to provide sufficient evidence to help us gain more confidence in our Bibles.
From time to time, the question arises: “I thought men wrote the Bible and men make mistakes.” This line of thinking leads some to disregard the Scriptures.
The Bible is the Mind of God.
The truth is that the Bible is the mind of God in written form. In His wisdom, He saw fit to provide and preserve His Word. Men do make mistakes, but the Spirit of God does not!
Consider what the inspired Luke claimed:
“Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus” (Luke 1:1-3).
How do we explain how Luke, an imperfect man, had “perfect understanding of all things?” The answer is that he was inspired and therefore what is written is perfect.
The Evidence in Prophecy.
Peter stated that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation meaning man did not come up with the message himself.
For example, how could Isaiah write about the birth, life, and death of Jesus over 700 years before Jesus was born? Isaiah wrote that Jesus would be born to a virgin (Isa. 7:14), that He would live as the “suffering servant” (Isa. 53), and would be “cut off” (die)” (Isa. 53).
How did he know these things?
Consider David who wrote by inspiration: “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue” (2 Sam. 23:2).
David wrote of what takes place in the womb (Psalm 139), the “paths in the seas” (Psa. 8:8), and discussed in detail the events of the crucifixion (Psalm 22). Crucifixion wasn’t even invented yet and David, in reference to Jesus, penned, ‘They pierced my hands and my feet” (Psalm 22:16; cf. John 19:37).
Dear friends, these points are only the tip of the iceberg.
The evidence is overwhelming that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. The Word is forever settled in Heaven (Psalm 119:89) and will stand even when this world is on fire (Matt. 24:35)!
May we read, study, obey, and trust the Word of God, being doers of the Word and not hearers only (Jas. 1:22).

Excellent. The Holy Word of God is God, Jesus became the Word to dwell among us at first, and then the believer became the temple of the Holy Spirit to house the Word. Now the Word, Jesus, lives within us. Wowza. It doesn't get any better than that.
