Jesus Christ is called “our Savior” (2 Timothy 1:8-10).
Paul said that “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners” (1 Tim. 1:15). Who is it that needs Jesus as their Savior?
All accountable individuals, Jew and Gentile, have sinned (Romans 3:23).
God sent Jesus because He loved the world and so that the world might be saved through Jesus.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17)
God does not want anyone to be lost but desires that all repent.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
The murderers, blasphemers, and persecutors need a Savior – like Saul (Acts 9), and the “morally good” people need a Savior – like Cornelius (Acts 10).
If Paul could be saved after all he had done, then you can be too! If Cornelius needed to be saved, even though he was a good person, you also need to be!
We must understand that only Jesus can save us (Acts 4:12; John 14:6).
We must realize that before we obey the Gospel, we are the slave of sin.
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? (Romans 6:16)
When someone obeys the form (pattern) of doctrine taught in Scripture, they are freed from sin and become the servants of righteousness.
But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. (Romans 6:17-18)
When we put our old man of sin to death, then we are freed from sin (Romans 6:6-7). Romans 6:3-5 explains that we put our old man of sin to death when buried with Christ in baptism.
Once we have been freed from sin, we must serve righteousness and set our affections on things above.
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:1-3)
We all need Jesus Christ as our Savior.
If you have not obeyed Him, will you?
