There are three kinds of people you find in line at the grocery store.
Seth Godin referred to these three kinds of people in The Dip.
One gets in a short line and then stays in it no matter how slow it moves or how much faster the other lines seem to move.
One is constantly moving back and forth between what they believe is the fastest or shortest line at the moment.
The last person will switch lines only once - and then only when it becomes apparent their line is moving slowly and there is a good option to change lines.
Which one are you?
More specifically - which one are you when it comes to your faith?
Are you the kind of person who will settle into your beliefs and grow comfortable in whatever church you attend and then refuse to ever change - despite seeing problems between what you believe and what the Bible teaches?
Are you the kind of person who just constantly moves around in what you believe - are you constantly adapting to whatever your favorite church-of-the-month believes?
Or are you the kind of person who has deep convictions in your faith - but you are willing to acknowledge when you’re wrong and change to what’s right?
We should all strive to be the third person.
The apostle Paul was like the third person (1 Timothy 1:12-17; Acts 26).
What about you?
