The Christian life is the greatest of all possible lives.
This point was clearly made by our Savior when He said: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
So why is the Christian life so great? Christians have what others do not—hope.
Why Do Christians Have Hope?
In 1 Peter 1:3-5, Peter wrote:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
With those words, Peter beautifully set forth why Christians have hope and what hope is all about.
Because of God’s mercy.
First, Christians have hope because of God’s abundant mercy.
Truly, God is rich in mercy and loves us greatly (see Ephesians 2:4-6).
It is, of course, because of this great mercy that we are allowed the opportunity to make our lives right through Jesus Christ.
Because of the resurrection of Jesus.
Second, Christians have hope because of the resurrection of Jesus.
The angel asked, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!” (Luke 24:5-6).
Our hope is not just based upon Christ’s life, it is based upon his resurrection. We are assured of more than just this life. Eternity awaits.
Because of a home in heaven.
Third, Christians have the hope of an eternal home in heaven.
It will truly be “an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away” (1 Peter 1:4).
What do Christians have? Hope.

Thank you for reminding us of "Hope", sometimes forgotten in our "too busy world"!
Too many still hope in the things of the world...
