As I type this on Sunday night before I go to bed, I’m exhausted.
Sunday’s are a busy day - and very tiring for the preacher.
But it’s a good tired. I’m so thankful to have spent Sunday with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
When I experience the benefits of gathering with my family in Christ, I realize how immensely blessed we are to have each other.
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
What is the reason why the Hebrew writer says we assemble together?
To “consider one another in order to stir up love and good works…exhorting one another.”
When we are together, we remind each other of our love for one another, of our love for God, and God’s love for us.
Being together motivates me to do good works for God’s glory (Matthew 5:16).
Being together with my brothers and sisters in Christ strengthens me and prepares me to keep facing the challenges of life. I’m reminded that I’m not alone.
Any time with fellow Christians is such a blessing!
