Imagine you were lost in the woods and had no way to find your way out. Would you feel scared? Maybe you would feel hopeless?
Now imagine someone came looking for you and found you.
How thrilled would you be to be found? How thankful would you be to the one who found you?
Jesus came to look for and save - or rescue - those who are lost.
“The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10)
And yes - you and I need saving.
Those who have sinned are lost because of their sins (Romans 3:23). Jesus Christ came to find you and me and offers salvation. He is the only way of salvation.
"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
Jesus came to this world full of pain and suffering to find and rescue you and me. Knowing that we mean that much to Him ought to fill our hearts with overflowing joy! He loves us!
Now, what will we do with Him?
Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)
