After a “break” from persecution, the church faces another round of persecution - this time with the Roman government getting involved to appease the Jewish people.
But once again, the same pattern is followed. The Lord’s people suffer for a time, the persecutor is removed, and the Lord’s word continues to grow and multiply.
It is a great source of comfort to know that we serve the true “Lord of lords,” and that He continually demonstrates His authority and sovereignty over all.
