We are always making plans for the future.
Sometimes, our plans and thoughts for the future consume us to the point where we overlook today and the opportunities right in front of us.
“I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” - Etienne de Grellet
You will never experience today again.
After today passes, it will be in the past, and there will be no going back and doing things differently.
Jesus told His followers to put first things first today - and not to be worrying over what tomorrow may or may not hold. He said we have enough on our plates today.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:33-34)
What opportunities to do good will come your way today?
Will you even recognize them - or will your mind be so consumed with the things of tomorrow that you miss today’s opportunities?
