Answering a Question About If God Would Help in the Horrible Situation Between Russia and Ukraine
Arrogance versus humility.
I recently had someone ask me if I thought God would help us during this horrible situation.
The person asking the question was a writer from Europe. I thought I would share my answer with you as well
.Many years ago, there was a king named Nebuchadnezzar who was ruler over the Babylonian Empire. He was the most powerful country in the world at that time.
In the Bible, Daniel 4 shows how God humbled a powerful, and arrogant ruler.
After he learned the lesson, Nebuchadnezzar said something very interesting.
"Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right, and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble." (Daniel 4:37)
God was very patient with King Nebuchadnezzar - He warned him what would happen if he remained arrogant a whole year before anything happened (Daniel 4:4-33). But eventually, God showed Nebuchadnezzar who was really the most powerful King.
Long story short - I believe if Putin (or any other leader in the world) refuses to humble themselves from acting so arrogantly, God will eventually humble them.
I don't know how long it will take - I don't know what will happen. I know God wants him - and everyone else - to repent of his evil and be saved (1 Timothy 2:1-4). But, if he refuses, God will eventually show the world who is truly the King of all the earth.
During times like this, I like to read the book of Daniel. It reminds me that no matter how scary and powerful and evil rulers of this world are - they will all eventually be shown to be inferior to God.
May we all choose to humble ourselves before the Almighty God of heaven and earth.
