Hello friends, I know I don’t usually send you more than one email per day - but this is a special case.
A couple of weeks ago, a young preacher who went to the same school I did - although he was a couple of classes behind me - passed away. He was only 24 years old.
He had several challenging circumstances in his life and didn’t have much as far as this world’s possessions. In fact, he didn’t even have enough for a marker for his grave.
So that’s the need: raising money for a gravestone.
Here is what the fundraiser says:
Taylor Coker passed away Aug. 18th at the age of 24. He left behind only memories and the effects of his good deeds as a teacher, preacher and friend. With nothing left even to pay for a headstone, we are asking for donations to do just that; a simple marker for loved ones to visit.
As soon as the money is raised, the order will be put in. It will take 6-12 months, as is standard for the area, to get the headstone made and delivered.
Any extra funds will be used for a scholarship in his name for children in need of dialysis.
There is no expectation for any of you to contribute to this.
But if you can, it would be a wonderful way to give back after God has given so much for us.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9)
Thank you, and may God bless you!
Your heart is always in the right place.
