4 Reasons Why Your Father Will Always Love You
Nothing you do can change these things.
To my kids:
There are going to be some tough times in your life.
You’ll make some big mistakes and maybe even do something very wrong. While I will encourage you to do what’s right and to turn from doing what’s wrong - I will always love you.
Four main reasons come to mind as to why I will always love you.
Because God gave you life.
Your life is a precious gift from God.
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. (Psalm 139:13-14)
You are a wonderful gift from God (Psalm 127:3). You are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26-27).
When I consider your value, how could I do anything but love you?
Because your Mom worked hard to get you here.
Your Mom carried all three of you for the first nine months of your life. You all grew inside of her - and it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for her.
Sometimes she was sick to her stomach, and towards the end of her time carrying you inside her, she was pretty much always uncomfortable.
When I think about how much your mother endured to bring you into this world alive and healthy, how could I do anything but love you?
Because I see myself in each of you.
Nate - your competitive fire and quick temper are things I see in myself.
Casen - your anti-social tendencies are most definitely something I see in myself.
Ava Drew - you have a stubborn streak that I also have been afflicted with.
When I look at the three of you, I see characteristics in you that first were in me. When I think about how you share similarities with me, how could I do anything but love you?
Because God loves you.
God loved you so much that He sent His Son to offer everlasting life to you.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Your heavenly Father made a tremendous sacrifice for you and demonstrated His love for you (Romans 5:6-9).
When I think about how much God loves you, how could I do anything but love you?
I hope you make the right decisions, but I know that sometimes you’re going to sin - sometimes you’re going to make the wrong decision or take the wrong path.
I’ll encourage you to do what’s right.
And know that I’ll always love you.
Until next time,
Love, Dad.
